What is the city's recipe for a fantastic food festival? Chefs and musicians, combined with entertainment for all ages and several thousand tasting servings of favorite Chicago bites.

Fill up on all flavors of Chicago — from classic local dishes, to specialty cuisines from ethnic neighborhood restaurants, to inspired chef creations — at the annual lakefront festival Taste of Chicago. Then top it off with musical talents every evening.

What it's All About

'The quintessential summer event, Taste (as it's known to the locals) appeals to all of your senses:

  • Smell and taste the best of Chicago's booming restaurant scene;
  • See culinary experts share their secrets at daily cooking demos;
  • And hear music artists as they take to the big stage of Petrillo Music Shell.

Walk through the Street Art & Graffiti Alley featuring live painting by local artists. The Stomping Grounds Chicago area will showcase performances by local dance companies. Watch a daily procession of The March of the Puppets. And so much more.

Iconic Buckingham Fountain, dazzling Lake Michigan and the magnificent skyline form the backdrop to this five-day event. Plan your trip today, and be sure to bring an appetite!

Taste of Chicago

How it All Works

Admission to the Taste is FREE. Food and beverage tickets are sold in strips of 14 for $10 (includes $3 charge for Taste amenities). Ticket sales end at 8:30pm. Smaller "Taste of Portions" are available at each food vendor and are between 1-6 tickets.

Beverage tents are located throughout the event and feature Pepsi soft drinks, Anheuser-Busch beers and specialty drinks plus wines.

Getting There

Street Closures: The following streets will be closed during the Taste of Chicago through Monday, July 16 at 4pm:

  • Columbus, from Monroe to Balbo and from Balbo to Roosevelt (Balbo remains open to traffic)
  • Jackson, from Michigan to Lake Shore Drive
  • Congress, from Columbus to Congress Parkway semi-circle

Public Transportation: Visit www.transitchicago.com 

Parking: Park directly under the action at Millennium Garages

Biking: Bike parking is available on the perimeter of Grant and Millennium Parks. Visit the Chicago Bicycle Program for maps, safety, and other information.
