The free Chicago Greeter tours are led by friendly locals who will guide you through authentic Chicago — its fascinating histories, diverse cultural traditions, iconic landmarks, and off-the-beaten-path gems.

Chicago Greeter is currently offering in-person, socially distant tours for small groups, along with self-guided walking tours created by locals.

In-person Greeter tours

A recipient of TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence, these two to four hour tours of Chicago’s diverse neighborhoods are conducted in over a dozen languages. Your guide can even customize your tour to focus on your interest areas, including architecture, dining, LGBTQ+, family fun, and more.

Chicago Greeter and Choose Chicago are committed to providing a safe experience for its volunteers and visitors. Our tours will be operating with the following safety precautions:

  • Guests and tour guides must wear masks at all times during the tour.
  • All participants must maintain 6 ft. social distance.
  • Tour groups must be four guests or less.
  • Tours will avoid heavily populated areas.
  • Use of public transportation is optional.
