McCormick Place takes the work out of work

Show managers and exhibitors can perform their own work in any size booth, using their own ladders or hand tools, cordless tools, power tools and other tools designated by the MPEA.

The Exhibitors Bill of Rights

Expanded straight time

Personal vehicles
Regarding Auto Small Utility Vehicles (ASUV) or Personally Operated Vehicle Provisions, exhibitors can operate, load and unload their own vehicles at McCormick Place docks and designated loading areas.

Crew size reductions

Work at McCormick Place is conducted by 2-person rather than 3-person crews required previously.

Agreement between electricians & stagehands

Agreement between McCormick Place, Navy Pier, MPEA, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 134, and International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Local 2, allows IATSE stagehands to complete a type of work previously completed by IBEW electricians. IASTE members will now be allowed to install, operate and remove the audio/visual, sound and lighting equipment in certain areas used for presentations and performances, and to plug in the equipment to permanent outlets or temporary electrical services provided by electricians. This would also include lighting and sound equipment which is suspended from the ceilings of the facilities. Electricians will continue to complete all of the work they have historically completed in Exhibit Booths and other areas not used for presentations or performances.
