Starting Thursday, November 19, the Museum of Science and Industry will temporarily close to the public until further notice as the state moves to slow the surge of COVID-19. We were so excited to share the holidays with you, however we must do our part to ensure the spread of this disease does not get worse.
We will be working hard from home to bring you engaging science content through our website and social channels, and we have several free resources for you to explore:
Learning Resources: The Learning Resources virtual hub provides free educational tools in science, technology, engineering and medicine to bring STEM learning to students anywhere, anytime. (msichicago.org/resources)
Science at Home: Keep learning in place and at your pace with science activities and topics you can access anytime with experiments, games and videos. (msichicago.org/scienceathome)
Christmas Around the World and Holidays of Light: Explore an online map of trees and displays featured in MSI’s holiday exhibits, decorated by volunteers from Chicago’s diverse communities. Learn about the rich customs of more than 40 countries and cultures. This page will be updated throughout the holiday season. (msichicago.org/trees)
If you have tickets for a Museum visit during this closure, your tickets will be refunded automatically. Please allow up to five business days. Members, please stay tuned to your email for more information.
Just steps from Lake Michigan and minutes from downtown Chicago, the Museum continues to indulge the imagination with a myriad of vibrant and interactive exhibits. Inside, you’ll find dramatic spaces ideal for any corporate or social event.
The Museum’s Special Events professionals will work with you to create a memorable experience for your guests. Your personal event coordinator will guide you through the planning process step-by-step, ensuring that all details are executed to perfection.
We’ve got events down to a science! The essence and style of your event will be embodied in everything we do including table settings, lighting, floral, room decor, entertainment and catering. From the simple to the sublime, our catering packages have something for every taste!
Whether planning an event for 80 or 8,000 – the Museum’s amazing spaces make an ideal environment for any occasion. For more information, contact us at (773) 753-2583.
