The Black Foodies

This husband and wife duo (married for more than 30 years) are known as The Black Foodies, with a mission of spotlighting the city’s diverse Black-owned and operated restaurants. Their often sold-out Taste and Tour Chicago bus tours cover both historic landmarks and top dining destinations. Expect a culinary journey complete with tastings of signature dishes as you learn about the cultural significance of the cuisine and hear the stories behind the restaurants. Gone Again Travel & Tours

This African American-owned travel agency in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood has specialized in Black heritage travel for more than 25 years. They also host the Chi-Town Soul Trolley, which offers a unique view of the city’s historic West Side. Guests travel to landmark sites, such as the Epiphany Center for the Arts and former Black Panther meeting spots, and visit local restaurants that showcase the city’s soul food scene.
