The magic for fans begins before they step inside Harry Potter Shop Chicago, located at 676 N. Michigan Ave. Locals and tourists walking along Michigan Avenue are captivated by the store’s elegant exterior, which pays homage to the city’s architectural spirit.
Join the Virtual Queue that helps the shop manage the number of visitors on busy days. Just scan the QR code at the shop, fill in your group details, and you’ll get notified — even if you’re out exploring more of the city — when it’s your turn to enter.
Once inside, the store’s design leans into themes of resilience and rebirth as seen in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Guests are welcomed by a moving mermaid-stained glass window, inspired by the window in the Prefects’ bathroom at Hogwarts, as well as the iconic Golden Egg, transporting fans straight into scenes from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
The store’s interior brings to life the three tasks of the Triwizard Tournament:
- Suspended broomsticks “on fire” light up the store as a nod to the dragon challenge.
- The water trial’s Golden Egg adds a shimmering focal point to the store’s design.
- A maze-patterned floor leads to the register area, symbolizing the culmination of the tournament and the shopping journey.
The Goblet of Fire itself serves as a centerpiece, bringing the three tasks together.
At the heart of the store is the largest Butterbeer Bar in the country. Inspired by Chicago-style of speakeasies, guests can sip iconic Butterbeer and indulge in exclusive Chicago-themed Butterscotch Popcorn.
The store also features a selection of Chicago-exclusive wizarding world merchandise, including a Chicago bear, spirit jerseys, pins, mugs, tote bags, and caps. Fan favorites such as wands, robes, stationery, jewelry, and collectables are also available to purchase, as well as Hogwarts house apparel.
