Christkindlmarket Chicago

The traditional German-Style Christkindlmarket returns with two Chicagoland locations in 2019! The free outdoor holiday market has been a Chicago favorite since 1996. Enjoy international and local food, merchandise, and live entertainment at the Christkindlmarket Chicago at Daley Plaza from November 15 – December 24, 2019 and at the Christkindlmarket Wrigleyville at Gallagher Way from November 22 – December 31, 2019. Guests can also quench their thirst with a refreshing imported German beer or warm up with a cup of Glühwein (hot spiced wine), which is served in the popular collectible souvenir mug. The family-friendly outdoor market offers special activities for children, like the Kinder Passport, which is available for free at the information booth. This little booklet filled with riddles and coloring pages includes a section for children to collect stamps from different vendor stations in exchange for a little surprise gift. Families can also take pictures with the Christkind, the namesake of the market and gift-giver in most German-speaking countries.
A unique tradition is the Stammtisch, a special table gathering with family, friends or business partners that includes the serving of German foods and drinks at a festively decorated table. Each reserved table seats up to eight guests. Visitors can reserve one or multiple tables online and relax in a cozy atmosphere inside of the heated Grand Timber Haus at the Christkindlmarket Chicago. The Winterland at the Christkindlmarket at Gallagher Way gives visitors the opportunity to continue their holiday shopping and fun activities for the whole family.
