Every culture has its unofficial conference room. For some it’s the golf course. For many Asians, it’s the mahjong table — where hours of play do the work no LinkedIn message ever could: real conversation, a little friendly competition, and a read on someone’s character by how gracefully they lose.
Mahjong has long brought generations together around one table — much like Filipino hospitality itself, which turns any gathering into conversation, laughter, and friendships that last. Tiles, Tagays (Toasts), & Traditions blends the two: a night of mahjong, Filipino food, and handcrafted cocktails that honors culture while building real community, in celebration of Filipino American History Month.
Hosted at Cebu Chicago on Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 5:00 to 9:00 PM, this is where professionals, entrepreneurs, and community members come to unwind together — no agenda, just good company. Whether you grew up playing mahjong at your lola’s dining table or you’re hearing “tagay” for the first time tonight, you’re in the right seat. Beginners get quick, friendly instruction; experienced players head straight to open play. Either way, you’ll leave with a few new friends — or collaborators.
It’s community first, always — the same spirit that built our FilAm Women’s Leadership Lunch with Angel Aquino earlier this year, now open to everyone at the table.
