“Blending in Standing Out” is the first solo show by Loc Hong that presents, through gold leaf on glass, a contemplation of one’s identity and an emergence of the true self.
These gold leaf paintings introduce an assortment of lively and inciting camouflage patterns that simultaneously veil and spotlight the reflections of the viewer.
Hong cleverly pushes the boundaries of traditional gold leaf styles and techniques, boldly debuting an unconventional, signature era of gold leaf paintings within Hong’s work.
