Now and Then | David Lozano
The Evanston Art Center (EAC) is excited to welcome the public to Now and Then | David Lozano. This exhibition is on display from August 16 – September 14, 2025, and will be free and open to the public.
David Lozano blends American pop art and modernist abstraction with modern cultural references and personal memories to create forms where craft and cultural hierarchy exist in the same plane. Lozano’s mixed media wall pieces interrupt perceptions of value and of cultural aesthetics, featuring reconstructed or altered familiar forms such as papel picado (cut paper) banners or milagros (votives). His work employs a variety of techniques and references to ultimately challenge tropes of ethnicity, queerness, desire, and masculinity.
