8th Annual Ravenswood on Tap
Get your koozies ready! The 8th annual Ravenswood on Tap festival hosted by the Greater Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce (GRCC) returns July 19th & 20th for a weekend celebrating the local Malt Row community along with fellow neighbors!
Featuring beer and spirits from local breweries and distilleries, Ravenswood on Tap is a two-day celebration of Malt Row – one of the most prolific craft brewing communities in the country. The spotlight is put on local businesses in the neighborhood from restaurants to retailers, artisans, makers, and more. Enjoy an extensive line-up of live music and entertainment, food trucks, handmade goods, and more for a weekend of summer fun in the heart of Chicago’s north side community.
“We’re excited to showcase Malt Row, local artists, incredible live music, and more at this year’s Ravenswood on Tap,” shares Amy Czarkowski, Director of Events & Marketing for the GRCC. “On Tap is a great way for people to explore the different styles of beer and spirits made right here in the Ravenswood neighborhood. From Dovetail Brewery’s Helles Lager to Begyle Brewing’s No Tomorrow IPA to KOVAL Distillery’s Bourbon Lemonade, there’s something for everyone at Ravenswood on Tap.”
Ravenswood on Tap is located along Ravenswood Avenue between Berteau & Belle Plaine. The festival includes a suggested donation of $10 to benefit small business support and community programming from the GRCC (501c6) and public art and placemaking projects from the Ravenswood Community Council (501c3). Proceeds will additionally benefit Friends of Ravenswood Elementary (501c3), Ravenswood Neighbors Association (501c3), Common Pantry (501c3), and several other community fundraising partners.
“The donations collected at Ravenswood on Tap go directly back into the community. Every donation makes a difference through the work we do supporting local businesses so they can have long-term success,” shares Gene Wagendorf III, Executive Director of the GRCC. “Street festivals and events like On Tap are funded by your local chamber of commerce, not the city. Each dollar raised helps us work toward fundraising goals to keep organizing the community events we all love.”
Participating breweries and distilleries this year will include Begyle Brewing, Cultivate by Forbidden Root, Demo Brewing, Dovetail Brewery, Half Acre Beer Company, Hop Butcher for the World, Is/Was Brewing, KOVAL Distillery, and Spiteful Brewing. Guests will be able to satisfy hungry appetites with bites from local restaurants while browsing goods from artists and shops. Get ready for a friendly competition with an energetic line-up of activities and programming. On Tap will have lawn games and axe-throwing to enjoy throughout the weekend.
