Founded by Doc Pellegrino in 1968, Kingston Mines is the largest and oldest continuously operating blues club in Chicago. Its two stages have been graced by the likes of Magic Slim, Koko Taylor, Sugar Blue, Billy Branch, Junior Wells, Joanna Connor, Carl Weathersby, and scores of other musical greats, and are packed with the finest nonstop blues action seven nights a week. Kingston Mines has been the recipient of numerous awards over the years, including the Chicago Reader’s 2016 Best Blues Club, Chicago Music Awards 2016 Most Popular Blues Club Award & 2016 Torch Bearer of Blues in Chicago Award presented to the owner, Doc, a Chicago Concierge Favorites Award and a Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence. What keeps the Kingston Mines alive today, is the same thing that allowed its birth in the stormy 1960s…passion! For ribs, wings, catfish, red beans & rice and more, there is no better place than Doc’s Rib Joint. We have appetizers for every appetite. If you’re looking for a snack, our homemade nachos might be just the thing. Our Po’boy sandwiches are always a hit! If you’re in the mood for something spicy, try our buffalo wings or Caribbean-style jerk wings. Want something on the lighter side, try our salad with shrimp, catfish or chicken done up blackened, fried or grilled. Doc’s Rib Joint is always open right up to last call (3:30am Sunday through Friday & 4:30am Saturday). Come find us at the back of the Kingston Mines and save some room for a little drunken bread pudding or pecan pie to top the night off! The Pellegrino family invites you to come on down, get comfortable, enjoy some delicious Southern-style fare from Doc’s Rib Joint, and open your ears to some of Chicago’s best live music – and remember our motto: HEAR BLUES – DRINK BOOZE – TALK LOUD – YOU’RE AMONG FRIENDS!
