Get ready for the return of Vends + Vibes, Arts + Public Life’s annual summer arts marketplace celebrating the incredible creative entrepreneurs of the South Side! Join us on the Arts Lawn on Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 1:00 to 7:00 PM, for an afternoon where artists, makers, and neighbors connect, shop, and share the lively energy in Washington Park.

Spend the afternoon with South Side artists and makers showcasing jewelry, vintage finds, home goods, books, self-care essentials, and more. Whether you’re treating yourself or picking up something for a loved one, you’re sure to discover something special. Vendors keep 100% of their sales, ensuring your purchase directly supports the local creative entrepreneurs. Enjoy some of the city’s most beloved food vendors, serving up flavors as rich and vibrant as the marketplace itself.

The vibes will be strong all day long with host MC Binkey and music by DJMr. JayToo:

1:00 pm: Join Tiffany Mangum for House Yoga, a movement session rooted in breath, rhythm, and intention. Set to the sound of classic Chicago house, this class offers a cardio-forward flow while holding space for strength and stretch. It’s the perfect way to begin Vends + Vibes—moving in community, guided by the pulse of our city. Some yoga mats are provided, but we recommend bringing your own. See you on the hill!
2:00 pm: South Side Fireflies is popping up at Vends + Vibes with a joyful, family-friendly music session rooted in the legendary sounds of Earth, Wind & Fire, led by multi-instrumentalist Shanta Nurullah and vocalist/storyteller Zahra Baker. Bring the littles and come groove with us! All age groups are welcome to participate.
5:30 pm: Kick off the 2025 First Monday Jazz: Big Band Summerwith Theo Reed and his Jazz Friends on a journey back to the golden age of big band jazz in Chicago. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and join us on the Arts Lawn for live jazz by a Chicago living legend.
