On May 12th, we commemorated the first anniversary of the passing of the legendary alto saxophonist David Sanborn. To honor his immense contribution to music, longtime veterans of Sanborn’s world tours and recording sessions —keyboardist and musical director Ricky Peterson, guitarist Nicky Moroch, and drummer Gene Lake—reunite for a heartfelt celebration. Together as “THE SIDEGUYS” they pay tribute to the iconic sound and soulful rhythms that defined David Sanborn’s career, earning him six Grammy Awards and eight gold albums. This gathering will not only highlight the exceptional talent of these musicians but will also show the artistry that Sanborn brought to live music. His legacy continues to inspire, reminding us of the profound impact he had on both his fellow artists and audiences around the world.
