Pride & Power: A Celebration of Legacy, Voice, and Visibility

Presented in partnership with Windy City Times, and The Chicago LGBT Hall of Fame , please join us for an electrifying afternoon honoring the individuals whose courage, conviction, and brilliance have reshaped the narrative of LGBTQ+ rights and representation.

We are proud to welcome back three of the most influential and inspiring voices of our time. Mark Segal, pioneering activist since the Stonewall uprising and founder of the Philadelphia Gay News, brings decades of frontline advocacy and historic leadership.

Tracy Baim, Chicago LGBT Hall of Fame inductee and longtime journalist, joins the conversation with her groundbreaking work and transformative vision as former publisher of the Chicago Reader—a leader whose impact continues to shape national media and LGBTQ+ visibility.

We are also honored to feature Laura Washington, Chicago LGBT Hall of Fame inductee, Chicago Tribune columnist and ABC 7-Chicago political analyst, whose fearless commentary and decades of influence have elevated civic dialogue and advanced justice across communities.

Moderating the discussion is Denise Foy, fellow Chicago LGBT Hall of Fame inductee and Illinois Holocaust Museum Trustee, whose thoughtful guidance will illuminate the struggles, triumphs, and future of LGBTQ+ liberation.

From personal stories to political awakenings, from protest to progress, this timely program celebrates the enduring power of visibility and voice—and reminds us all what it means to stand proudly in the fight for freedom.
