Founders Day Celebration

Did you know the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum is the public face of the Chicago Academy of Sciences? We are! The Chicago Academy of Sciences was founded on January 13, 1857 and has been dedicated to studying and sharing knowledge about local nature ever since, including opening the first public museum in Chicago in 1869!

Come join us in celebrating that legacy by meeting some of the museum’s scientists and collections team members that continue that important work!

Explore the museum like never before with an interactive scavenger hunt!

Members enjoy free admission to this event. Tickets include access to all the museum’s daily programs and exhibits! Museums For All pricing is available on request.
