Chicago Dance Crash amplifies diverse artistic voices that collide within the intersection of street dance, concert dance, and physical theater, allowing for new avenues of discovery and innovation in Chicago and on the global stage. The company’s fusion-style works and performing ensemble embody our dedication to being an accessible and innovative dance company, creating intensely physical, authentic, and narrative-driven art.

Led by choreographer Annie Franklin, this workshop will provide Chicago artists with a rare opportunity to train with her and engage with her unique choreographic style. This workshop will connect new participants to the company while introducing them to the discipline and rigor required to merge long-form choreographic structure with freestyle-based movement. Following the workshop, there will be a works-in-progress showing of the completed, or near-completed, work and a talkback with Franklin, e j e c t, and the ensemble. This will give participants and attendees a chance to reflect on the creative process and provide feedback that can inform the ongoing development of the work.
