Moving across comedy, drama, and personal storytelling, this program highlights filmmakers exploring identity, connection, vulnerability, and the strange beauty of everyday life. Each film offers its own distinct perspective, making this block a strong introduction to the range, creativity, and emotional power of short-form filmmaking at the Chicago Critics Film Festival. A Q&A will follow with directors Anna Baumgarten (Balloon Animals), Carlos Lerma(Vampire), Curtis Matzke (A Museum of Myself), and Nicholas J. Santore (Bouncy Brothers).
