The Lunar New Year parade in Chinatown will take place on Sunday, Feb. 21, 2021. Instead of a traditional parade, the performers will go from business to business with lion dances beginning at noon at 24th Street and Wentworth Avenue and ending up in Chinatown Square at about 1 p.m.
Asian Pop-Up Cinema presents a Happy Chinese New Year free streaming series sponsored by the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China from Feb. 12 – 18, 2021. Seven movies are specifically handpicked for people to enjoy while celebrating the Year of the Ox.
China National Traditional Orchestra’s concert “Festive Forever: Chinese Music of Traditional Festivals ” combines Chinese music with traditional festival stories which date back thousands of years. The concert demonstrates typical traditional Chinese festivals in the form of the traditional orchestral music. The concert features guest performances by Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
