Chicago Women's Funny Festival

Chicago boasts of funny women all day long. However, from June 5th through June 8th there will be an influx of comediennes flowing in and out of the doors to Stage 773 for The 3rd Annual Chicago Women's Funny Festival (CWFF). I spoke with Executive Producer, Jill Valentine, and Associate Producer, Liz McArthur, to learn a bit more about what to expect at this year's fest.

Mecca Flats Blues

Only a few days are left to experience the "Mecca Flat Blues" exhibit at the Chicago Cultural Center. Let's look at this exhibit through an architectural lens. Through May 25th, you can see the contrast of two very important Chicago buildings, both significant to Chicago architectural history and built on the same site in Bronzeville.

The sun is shining, the flowers are blooming, Chicago is buzzing with outdoor activity... it's about that time again. The 18th Annual Chicago SummerDance returns to Friday June 27 for a three month run in the Spirit of Music Garden in Grant Park. As the largest annual outdoor live music and dancing series in the U.S., SummerDance has big things - and big moves! - planned for all you Chicagoans who love to dance (and those who want to learn!)

Pritzker Military Library

The Pritzker Military Museum & Library is one of Chicago's most unique and off-the-beaten path museums. Just steps from Millennium Park and the Art Institute, it's worth visiting for its unique collection and rotating, acclaimed exhibits, all housed in the historic Monroe Building. This upcoming Memorial Day weekend, the museum has a number of events planned to honor the courage of our nation's service men and women.

Grant Park Music Fest

Chicago's Park District enjoys its prime time in the summer months and a little world class entertainment never hurt to highlight all our parks have to offer. Sprawling Grant Park is most commonly known as the home to Buckingham Fountain, Lollapalooza and a scenic lakeside view but this year it also welcomes back the Grant Park Music Festival for its 80th season.

Chicago Craft Beer Week is in full swing, and while we fully embrace any reason to learn more about our city's craft beers, the truth is you can do it nearly any week of the year. If you're not able to make any of CCBW's events (which run through May 25th), you can always hop on one of these brewery tours.
