A Chicago Landmark

Located on Lake Michigan, Navy Pier, Chicago’s mission-driven cultural district is one of the top-attended nonprofit cultural destinations in the Midwest, stretching more than six city blocks and welcoming more than 9 million guests annually. This iconic, century old landmark, has never looked better as it is in the midst of a dynamic physical and programmatic transformation.

The Pier welcomes a variety of newly designed spaces that showcase the best of Chicago’s diverse arts and culture.

The Polk Bros Fountain and Plaza now welcomes guests with a beautiful, new interactive water feature. Since its opening, the Fountain has been a magnet, attracting guests of all ages. In colder months, the space has served as a setting for free temporary public art installations. The new Polk Bros Park Performance Lawns also add to the city’s cultural landscape. The City Stage and Lake Stage on the Performance Lawns come fully equipped with state-of-the-art sound and lighting to support a wide range of creative expression in music, dance, theater, cinema, public art, festivals and more.

The newly renovated Fifth Third Bank Family Pavilion offers authentic Chicago experiences and provides a marketplace-like feel, showcasing Chicago-centric establishments in dining, leisure and retail and enhancements to Chicago Children’s Museum.

NP Pavillion

The Peoples Energy Welcome Pavilion, opening this fall, is located just south of the Polk Bros Fountain and Plaza. This new space will serve as a welcome center, offering a variety of amenities to guests as they enter the Pier and while they enjoy the free arts and cultural programming in Polk Bros Park.

No matter the season, guests can take advantage of a myriad of offerings, from enjoying a meal at one of the Pier’s fine dining establishments or taking a cruise, to catching a show at Chicago Shakespeare Theater’s new The Yard Theater or enjoying unparalleled views from the iconic Centennial Wheel, complete with enclosed, climate-controlled gondolas for year-round enjoyment.

NP Garden

As a community-based organization, Navy Pier is committed to offering guests free, one-of-a kind arts and culture programming, designed to inspire, educate and connect guests from across the city and globe. Guests can expect a dynamic and eclectic mix of free programs throughout 2018. This summer’s lineup includes Live on the Lake!, the Pier’s live music series at the Miller Lite Beer Garden; a new, live DJ series called Wave Wall Wax; and of course the iconic Aon Summer Fireworks show every Wednesday and Saturday evening Memorial Day through Labor Day.
