Authentic Indian and Pakistani cuisine from Chef Faraz Sardharia.
Founded in Chicagos Lincoln Park neighborhood in 2012 by brothers Fahim and Faraz Sardharia, Tandoor Char House is recognized as Chicagos first international halal steakhouse. Inspired by their Indian and Pakistani heritage and a lifelong passion for hospitality, the brothers created a restaurant that blends traditional South Asian flavors with a modern steakhouse experience.
Over the years, Tandoor Char House expanded with an additional to-go concept in West Town while remaining deeply rooted in the Lincoln Park community. The family-owned restaurant has become known for its welcoming atmosphere, handcrafted dishes, premium halal meats, and approachable fine dining experience.
Praised by locals and visitors alike for its flavorful cuisine and warm hospitality, Tandoor Char House continues to stand out as a neighborhood favorite. The restaurant is also a two-time Peoples Choice Award winner at Chicagos Lakeview Taco Fest (2023 and 2024), further showcasing its creative approach to South Asian-inspired cuisine. Offering halal options and BYOB service, Tandoor Char House remains committed to serving both its cultural roots and the diverse Chicago community it calls home.
