Brief Description of your Student ServicesRainbow PUSH Educational & Historic Group ExperiencenRainbow PUSH Coalition offers educational and cultural experiences for student, university, civic, faith-based, and visiting groups seeking a deeper understanding of Chicagos important role in the American Civil Rights Movement.nThrough guided historical experiences, visitors explore the life and legacy of Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, Sr., the founding of Operation PUSH and Rainbow PUSH Coalition, and the evolution of the Civil Rights Movement as the struggle for equality expanded from the American South into Northern cities, particularly Chicago.nThe experience connects the Great Migration and the growth of Chicagos Black communities to the continuing struggles for fair housing, educational opportunity, economic justice, voting rights, political representation, and corporate accountability. It also explores how Chicago emerged as a major center for Black leadership, organizing, entrepreneurship, faith, culture, and social change.nProgramming can include a historic tour of Rainbow PUSH Coalition headquarters, archival and multimedia presentations, conversations with movement leaders and educators, and customized experiences for student, domestic, and international visiting groups.
