National Soul Food Month, Chicago Heritage Soul Food Bus Tour June 4, 2026
This guided bus tour led by Chicago Urban Historian Sherman “Dilla” Thomas and Charla Draper, Founder of National Soul Food Month explores the historic neighborhoods, legendary restaurants, and food innovators that shaped Chicago’s Black culinary legacy. Over the course of this two-hour immersive experience, guests will travel through Bronzeville, Washington Park, Auburn Gresham, and beyond—visiting iconic sites, hearing untold stories, and tasting the foods that helped create some of the classic flavors of Chicago.
