Metropolis Performing Arts Centre, located in the heart of downtown Arlington Heights, 111 W. Campbell St.,is proud to announce the cast and creative team for The Wedding Singer, April 29 – May 24.The Wedding Singeris written by Chad Beguelin and Tim Herlihy, music by Matthew Sklar, lyrics by Chad Beguelin and directed by Amber Mak.

Audiences can ready themselves to swing into wedding season with The Wedding Singer, the Tony-nominated Rom-Com musical adaptation of Adam Sandler’s 1998 hit movie. Rewind to 1985 when collars were popped, hair was huge and the wedding singer was the raddest rocker at the reception. Robbie Hart, a beloved wedding singer, is the life of the party until his fiancée flees, leaving him hanging at the altar. Sad, somber and feeling “Shot through the heart,” Robbie turns every wedding into a wreck. Enter Julia, a winsome waitress who works the wedding circuit alongside Robbie. This Gen X musical gem features 80s references, a pop-inspired score and dynamic dance numbers.

The regular performance schedule is Thursdays and Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 2 and 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m., with a matinee-only performance on Thursday, May 7 at 2 p.m. The performance on Saturday, May 9 at 2 p.m. will be closed captioned and the performance on Thursday, May 14 at 7:30 p.m. will be ASL interpreted.
