The legendary Polish ensemble Mazowsze – for the first time in a generation – is returning to Chicago this coming early May.

After 16 years of absence, the world-renowned Song and Dance Ensemble “Mazowsze” – the Magnificent Mazowsze – will return to the United States. As part of its special tour, it could not skip Chicago, where it will perform an extraordinary concert on May 1 at the Copernicus Center.

The Polish community, Americans of Polish descent, and all those fascinated by Polish culture and tradition have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to see Mazowsze with their own eyes – a legendary Polish folk ensemble founded in 1948, one of the largest and most highly regarded groups of its kind in the world. Throughout its history, it has performed for millions of spectators across Europe, Asia, the Americas, and many other regions, becoming a renowned Ambassador of Polish Culture.

Audiences on this one special evening will witness the extraordinary artistry of 150 performers on stage — the Choir, Ballet, and Orchestra of Mazowsze — in a breathtaking spectacle featuring dynamic choreography, powerful music, and over 1,500 dazzling costumes representing the rich regional traditions of all of Poland.

Mazowsze will perform under the baton of Jacek Boniecki, the ensemble’s director and conductor, on May 1, 2026, at 8:00 PM at the Gateway Theater at Copernicus Center, 5216 W Lawrence Ave, Chicago, IL 60630.
