CIVL Fest 2026 presents GZA “Liquid Swords” 30th Anniversary at Avondale Music Hall April 24, 2026
CIVL Fest 2026 is a citywide festival spotlighting Chicago’s independent venues with ten days of shows, special events, and community-focused programming.
GZA/The Genius (Gary Grice) is a founding member of the Wu-Tang Clan. Known as the group’s “spiritual head,” he is famed for his complex, scientific lyricism. His 1995 solo album, Liquid Swords, is a platinum-certified masterpiece. The 30th Anniversary tour of Liquid Swords rolls through Chicago on April 24th at the Avondale Music Hall with special live band sets with Phunky Nomads.
