The current Ascendant roster includes original members Kael Mboya on keys/vocals and Michael Lockett on vocals/percussion, with Renee Ruffin on vocals, Eric Johnson on drums and Donica Lynn on vocals. Collectively, they are continuously sought after talents and have shared stages with such Grammy® music legends as Rachelle Ferrell, Malik Yusef, Meshell Ndegeocello and the late George Duke. Now having released their Top 30 Digital Radio hit, “It’s Not Over” (with Angela Johnson) and the brand new single “Love Saved My Life,” Ascendant continues to rise above…their fears, and other obstacles by creating meaningful, soul-filled music in an era when such artistic statements aren’t always made –but desperately needed.
