Poetry is a place in downtown Chicago. Visit the Poetry Foundation, the American Institute of Architects Honor Award-winning home for poetry. The Poetry Foundation, publisher of Poetry magazine, is an independent literary organization committed to a vigorous presence for poetry in our culture. Experience the Library’s 30,000-volume collection, the beautiful Gallery, and any of the 100+ free events that happen annually. All public spaces, including a gender neutral bathroom, are accessible.

PLEASE NOTE that the Poetry Foundation building will remain closed to the public until further notice.

In-person programming is also cancelled until further notice, however we are offering several programs in virtual spaces. We invite you to explore our new virtual reading series Poetry off the Stage, interactive writing workshops, and monthly Library Book Club. More information is on our website at
