The 2013 Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament is coming to Chicago March 14-17. To celebrate, Chicago Like a Local will be highlighting the best area places to watch each Big Ten team. The University of Iowa might need to win the Big Ten Tournament in order to reach the NCAA's. And if Roy Devyn Marble can knock down, say, 30 three-pointers between March 14 and 17, the Hawkeyes have a puncher's chance. Do you believe in Iowa miracles?

In March, Chicago will turn into a giant, green import from Dublin. No city celebrates St. Patrick's Day with the fervor of Chicagoans, but not all the festivities are, shall we say, family-friendly. But just because you have some Leprechaun-sized companions, doesn't mean you can't get in on the action. Celebrate all things Irish and at four of the most popular and family-friendly St. Patrick's Day events.

South By Southwest has come to be spring's pinnacle event for music, tech and film. Held annually in Austin, Texas, attendees and artists flock to the festival every March from all over the globe. So what does all of this have to do with Chicago? A lot, actually. Thanks for asking.

With such a big emphasis on the music, nearly every major city in the U.S. is represented and Chicago's no exception. To help you navigate the scene and support our homegrown talent, we've spotlighted the local groups headed to Austin.

Chicago has an incredibly rich history on the hardwood. For generations, the ball played in high school gyms around this city has been as good as anywhere in the country, producing an unmatched list of players that eventually matriculated to success in the NBA. And countless others that - let's face it - would beat you pretty soundly in a game of H-O-R-S-E.

The Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament is coming to Chicago (March 14-17). To celebrate this longstand tradition of basketball excellence, we've rather poetically put together a list of Chicago's greatest all-time basketball players.

Disclaimer: While you might expect to see Michael Jordan on this list, he is not. He grew up in North Carolina and, as synonymous as MJ is with the 3-1-2, we can't claim his roots. Unfortunately. Kevin Garnett, while a graduate of Farragut Academy, only lived in Chicago for a little over a year. Again, we'd like to claim him, but cannot.

With that out of the way, we proudly present: Homegrown Talent: Chicago's All-Time Greatest Basketball Players.

Computer - Blog

In this age of Retina Displays, touch screens and Google Glass, why is it so hard to find dependable Wi-Fi? While traveling underneath the Chicago River, I can post a picture to Instagram from a moving subway car. But if I try to check my e-mail in a crowded Starbuck's, there's a 50/50 shot that my browser will not load. What is that? Well, the fiber optic frustration ends today with this list of the best, most unique Wi-Fi spots in Chicago.
