2337 Michigan Avenue, our historic venue space, was developed in the early 1900’s in the Motor Row area of Chicago’s South Loop. The Motor Row area is located on Michigan Avenue, just South of Cermak Avenue and West of McCormick Place Convention Center. Buildings in the area were constructed between 1905 and 1936.
Throughout the neighborhood’s history, Chicago’s Motor Row has been home to many of Chicago’s big shoulders; including Marshall Field and Al Capone who called 22nd and Michigan Avenue his “home turf”. At the turn of the century, Motor Row was famous for featuring more than 116 different makes of automobiles; they were sold and repaired on this historic district of Michigan Avenue. 2337 was the home to a Speedometer and Clock Company.
“Motor Row” was designated a Chicago Landmark on December 13, 2000. In 2013, we purchased 2337 and initially renovated it as a Brewery and Tap Room, with additional private event space. Following COVID, we rebranded and launched Venue OverDrive, giving ode to our historic automobile neighborhood. Our event spaces are located on the 2nd and 3rd Floors of 2337.
