Discovering nature in the city is the theme of an “Urban Nature Walk and Talk,” set to talk place 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, at Park 538 in West Rogers Park, sponsored by Metropolitan Water Reclamation District Commissioner Eira Corral Sepulveda and Commissioner Cam Davis, Jewish Neighborhood Development Council of Chicago, and Chicago Audubon Society.

Commissioner Eira Corral Sepúlveda will lead the program. Focusing on points of interest in the restored natural prairie, the family-friendly program will feature a scavenger hunt, nature walk, seed giveaway, and gardening tips.

Participants will convene at the southwest corner of Touhy and Kedzie Avenues.

The program is free of charge. Advance registration is required. Click here to register. For further information, contact ellen@jndcchicago.org.

Park 538 comprises acres of restored prairie between Kedzie Avenue and the Chicago River System, from Touhy to Albion Avenues. Beyond the lush tree line, Park 538 is a magnet to nature lovers, offering rustic hiking trails and riverbank habitats.
