The hotel has designated one special elevator traveling up to the hotel’s signature restaurant, Terrace 16, to be decked in everyone’s favorite holiday indulgences – gingerbread, candy canes, and more sweet treats. Envisioned by the hotel’s Pastry Team, the Gingerbread Express features 466 pounds of all purpose flour, 105 pounds of dark sugar and 98 pounds of butter and takes more than 450 hours to create. Guests riding the Gingerbread Express will be greeted by the sweet aromas of the season, celebratory holiday music, and more than 1,300 gingerbread bricks. The Gingerbread Express elevator originated in 2010 and has become a holiday tradition for guests, residents and restaurant patrons to enjoy every year.The Gingerbread Express Elevator is accessible to the general public! You can also visit The Gingerbread Holiday Pop Up Shop offering our signature holiday spiced cookies & festive treats carefully crafted by our pastry team. All proceeds will benefit the children of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In addition, we highly recommend that you enhance your visit by making a reservation in advance at Terrace 16.
