The Tap event space opens at The Collection at McCormick Square
The Tap, a new 15,000-square-foot event venue, has opened on the McCormick Square campus. Available for private meetings and events, The Tap operates as a coffee shop during the day and a bar at night. It’s conveniently located at the intersection of the McCormick Place West Building, Wintrust Arena, the Marriott Marquis Chicago, and the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place.
RPM Seafood makes a splash on the Chicago River
The sleek RPM Seafood has opened on the north bank of the Chicago River. The two-story restaurant features floor-to-ceiling windows and a terrace overlooking the water. The menu includes fresh catches from around the world. Its second level houses private and semi-private event spaces, including three boardrooms.
Chicago Board Game Cafe debuts
The Chicago-based team behind the Cards Against Humanity card game has opened the fun Chicago Board Game Cafe. A perfect team building spot, the cafe offers hundreds of board games (with professional instructors on hand to help with the rules), two escape rooms, and homestyle Vietnamese and Spanish cuisine. Private party rooms are available.
KOVAL Distillery set to unveil a new tasting room
Chicago’s Koval Distillery is almost ready to open a new tasting room on the city’s Malt Row, a growing collection of breweries and distilleries in the Ravenswood neighborhood. The new 40,000-square-foot facility, which is set to open this spring, includes a patio and space for whiskey workshops.
DoubleTree by Hilton opens near Midway Airport
The newly renovated DoubleTree by Hilton Chicago Midway Airport has opened near the city’s southwest side international airport. The hotel features 146 revamped rooms, along with flexible event space that includes a boardroom and ballroom that can accommodate up to 210 people for a reception. The hotel also offers free shuttle service to and from Midway Airport.
