Willie Dixon's Blues Heaven Foundation at the historic Chess Records
  • Willie Dixon's Blues Heaven Foundation, located within the historic Chess Records Building. The historic Chess Records building was restored in 1993 by Maria Dixon, widow of Willie Dixon, to house the Blues Heaven Foundation and the various programs for children, students, Blues musicians and music enthusiasts. The historic address, 2120 S. Michigan Ave, houses the only Blues Museum in Chicago, as well as the Blues Heaven Gallery where many photographers have displayed their work. Tours are given Monday through Saturday, every hour on the hour, and we are open 12-4 PM. The adjoining Blues Garden features live performances, free to the public, throughout the summer beginning in June through mid September, every Thursday evening from 6 to 7:30.
