Woodstock Art Fair on the Square: Woodstock, Illinois
Hosted by the City of Woodstock and Real Woodstock, Amdur Productions is thrilled to announce an exciting new art festival taking place on Saturday and Sunday, September 21 and 22 in the historic (and famous) downtown Woodstock. Known for its beautiful architecture, quaint shops, and charming brick paved streets, Woodstock is also known as the place where the beloved movie “Groundhog Day” was filmed. This month, it will become known for its inaugural art fair, Woodstock Art Fair on the Square, featuring 75 artists from near and far showcasing and selling their work including paintings, photography, jewelry, ceramics, functional art, sculptures and more! Live music, artist demonstrations, activities for kids in the Kids Art Zone including facepainting, a new self-portrait project, the very popular “Start to Paint” on-site painting classes, selfie stations, and designated “Kid Friendly” booths where artists welcome children into their space to learn more about the art making process, add to the fun, family-friendly vibe of this event. Several restaurants just steps away from the artists’ booths will ensure that no one goes hungry! Admission is free, there is plenty of free parking, and the festival grounds are wheel-friendly with access for wheelchairs and strollers. Attendees are invited to bring their gently used art to the festival where it will be donated to the Chicago Furniture Bank, a nonprofit that distributes furnishings and art to those leaving shelters and moving into permanent housing. Several artists from this show are participating in Amdur Productions’ Green Ribbon Project. Artists place a green ribbon on a piece of art in their booth, and if the piece is sold, 10% of the sale will be donated to Amdur’s charitable partner, which is the Chicago Furniture Bank.
