MLK Day Celebration at Chicago Children’s Museum

Join us for our celebration of Dr. King and his legacy at Chicago Children’s Museum through art activities, storytelling, and reflection.

  • 10:00 am – 4:00 pm: Visit our story lounge on Floor 2 to peruse children’s books on the civil rights movement, race, and identity. Explore resources to help you have conversations with your children about race.

  • 10:00 am – 4:00 pm: Design your own Dr. King Day badge on Floor 2 to commemorate the holiday. Wear it proudly and let the world know what MLK Day means to you.

  • 10:30 am – 4:00 pm: Join us for print-making with visiting artist and educator Derek Moore! Littles can explore printmaking and create messages of hope and action inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Ages 4 and up.
