The 50th Birthday Bash at the Gorton Center in Lake Forest, IL
Saturday September 14, 2024
10:00 AM – Dog Day, Free Event: Calling all dog lovers! Watch local pups show off their best tricks, compete in a look-alike contest with their owners, and more. Plus, delicious food and beverage vendors will be on-site to keep you fueled.
Noon – Free Events: Enjoy live music, be amazed by a magician, and marvel at a bubble show. Between acts, don’t miss your chance to win fabulous raffle prizes and other giveaways. All-Day Activities: enjoy face painting, bracelet-making, temporary tattoos, and a RoboThink activity table. Test your skills with awesome yard games like mini-golf – and don’t miss the dunk tank featuring our brave LFHS athletes!
6:00 PM – Thom Nicholas Free Event: Hollywood actor, filmmaker and musician performs on our outdoor stage
8:00 PM – Fastball in Concert. Tickets $50: Rock out with 90s Alt-rockers Fastball in the John & Nancy Hughes Theater. Food and drink truck available.

Sound Bath (10 am): Free event: Start your Sunday with a calming and restorative sound bath session.
2:00 PM – John Hughes Movie Festival: $10 all-day pass. Dive into classic hits at the John & Nancy Hughes Theater with screenings of The Breakfast Club, Uncle Buck, and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.
2:00 PM Movie Festival for Children, Free Event featuring family favorites like Flubber (featuring Gorton alum Robin Williams!), Beethoven, and Dennis the Menace. In the Grotto. Bring a sleeping bag, blanket, or pillow to get cozy!
