Fire and Water Quintet

Curated by composer and visionary jazz pianist, Myra Melford, Fire and Water Quintet brings together some of the top names in jazz. The supergroup, featuring jazz greats Mary Halvorson, Ingrid Laubrock, Tomeka Reid, and Lesley Mok, performs For The Love of Fire and Water, an orginal jazz masterwork inspired by the dynamic and elemental artwork of Cy Twombly, specifically his renowned Gaeta Set. The ensemble’s synergy and individual virtuosity promise an unforgettable exploration of jazz, redefining the boundaries of the genre through the lens of visual inspiration.
