Cheers to 30 years! This October, Stir Friday Night, Chicago’s longest-running AAPI comedy team, is celebrating three decades of groundbreaking comedy. Featuring favorite sketches from across the decades, this milestone event honors our legacy of uplifting AAPI voices, including notable alumni such as Danny Pudi (Community), Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead), and Mary Sohn (A.P. Bio).
About Stir Friday Night
Stir-Friday Night is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit theater company that was founded in 1995. Based in Chicago, Illinois, they are one of the nation’s premier Asian-American comedy troupes. Having worked with such renowned companies such as The Second City and iO (formerly known as Improv Olympic), Stir-Friday Night has become a fixture in Chicago’s comedy scene.
Recent show highlights include: Steppenwolf Lookout Series, iO Fest, Second City (CHI & NYC), Fun and Dumb Comedy Festival (NYC), Mach Improv Los Angeles Festival (LA), Twin Cities Improv Festival (MPLS), Detroit Improv Festival (DET), Boom Chicago Comedy Festival in Amsterdam (NL), and the Baltimore Improv Festival (BALT).
As an ensemble of Asian-American actors/writers, they travel the nation performing improv and sketch shows that educate all audiences, from an Asian-American perspective. Their diverse cast keeps audiences laughing while delivering messages with which they can identify.
