Semicolon Books, Chicago’s Nicest Book Store, joins Late Night Talk Show
The Not That Late Show is a POC- and queer-led late-night talk show hosted by Justin Swinson, featuring an ensemble of Chicago comedians debuting brand-new material each month. Taking place every third Wednesday at The Lincoln Lodge, the show blends sketch comedy, sharp interviews, and live music from emerging local artists. Past guests have included State Senator Mike Simmons, Stephanie Skora of the Girl, I Guess Progressive Voter Guide, and Medea Benjamin of CODEPINK. This month’s guest is Danielle Moore, founder of Semicolon Books.
Semicolon Books is a Black woman–owned independent bookstore and community space in Chicago’s West Town neighborhood, founded in 2019. Recently named one of Reader’s Digest’s “Nicest Places in America” (ranking No. 2 nationwide), Semicolon is known for its welcoming atmosphere and mission to amplify underrepresented voices. Beyond its curated book selection, the shop leads the #ClearTheShelves initiative, which has donated more than 13,000 books to Chicago Public Schools students. A hub for readers, writers, and neighbors alike, Semicolon Books continues to inspire community, creativity, and connection in the heart of Chicago.
