As the official kick-off event for Chicago Restaurant Week, First Bites Bash on Thursday, January 29, 2015, is a must-attend party for anyone looking to experience some of the best restaurants in Chicago, all in one location: the magnificent Great Hall at Chicago Union Station.

Well-heeled attendees will be able to sample more than 50 sweet and savory food stations as celebrated chefs showcase exciting dishes that will be featured in their Chicago Restaurant Week menus.
Foodies also will enjoy the beverage pairing stations offered by sponsor partners CH Distillery, Crafthouse Cocktails, Few Spirits, Goose Island Beer Co. and Terlato Wines International.

Restaurants taking part for the first time in 2015 are a mix of classics and new hot-spots, including: Acanto, Ada Street, Artango Bistro, Boarding House, Celeste, Chuck's: A Kerry Simon Kitchen, Devon Seafood Grill, Eli's Cheesecake Bakery Café, Fulton Market Kitchen, Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse, Jellyfish, Mariano's, Moto, Parrot Cage Restaurant and Wicker Park Sushi.
Alpana became the youngest female to pass the final level of the Master Sommelier exam, and she served as the host of the Emmy Award-winning restaurant review TV show, "Check, Please!" on Chicago's PBS station for ten seasons. She is a James Beard Foundation Award nominee and owner of The Boarding House in River North. Next month, she will open her second restaurant, Seven Lions, on Chicago's iconic Michigan Avenue. Alpana first became aware of the work of Inspiration Corporation during her time with "Check, Please!" when the show featured Inspiration Café.

After First Bites Bash, epicurean adventures continue all across the city! The 8th Annual Chicago Restaurant Week kicks off the very next day.
During the 14-day culinary celebration, more than 250 restaurants citywide will offer special prix fixe menus, starting at $22 for lunch and $33 and/or $44 for dinner (*excluding beverages, tax and gratuity). The full list of participants will be announced mid-December, and reservations will be accepted at that time.
