The first Hyatt Place hotel in the downtown Loop area, this new Chicago hotel features 206 guest rooms, free Wi-Fi and breakfast for guests, a 1,800-square-foot fitness center, high-tech meeting spaces, a Coffee to Cocktails bar and convenient access to shopping and cultural attractions.

Announcing the completion of an extensive $11 million renovation, Omni Chicago unveiled transformations to 347 suites, including 10 specialty suites, as well as all public spaces, including the 676 Restaurant & Bar, nine meeting rooms and 8,000 square feet of meeting space.

Mexican hotel chain Grupo Posadas, which currently operates more than 130 hotels in Mexico, is undergoing a large-scale expansion in U.S. markets, with plans to open an 82-story West Loop tower, with intentions of opening 2017.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority CEO Lori Healey and MPEA Chairman Jack Greenberg joined Marriott International President CEO Arne M. Sorenson to break ground on the new Marriott Marquis Chicago Hotel, slated to become a 40-story, 1,206-room hotel adjacent to McCormick Place Event Center, featuring specialty suites, a marketplace food court and 90,000 square feet of meeting space.
