Live music, nightlife and boutiques make the Milwaukee corridor thrive. It’s where creative spirit runs loose, and the breweries that have made their homes here—from Wicker Park to Logan Square—harness the same imagination and energy.

Check out our Breweries Map & Itinerary.

STOP 1 // Piece Brewery & Pizzeria :  Get a Piece of the Pie

First, a forerunner. Open since 2001, Piece Brewery makes delicious New Haven-style thin crust pizza that you can wash down with a fresh brew. There are seven barrels in the back, and German-style varieties rule. Keeping things lively: karaoke and live bands.

STOP 2 // Pipeworks Brewing :  Do a Quick Pickup

The unique artwork on the cans and bottles of Pipeworks Brewing beers is part of the reason for all the buzz. While there is no taproom, you can swing by the Bottle Shop Thursdays through Saturdays to pick up your swigs and peek into the production facility.

STOP 3 // Revolution Brewing :  Be the First to Sample

The always bumping Revolution Brewing is a Logan Square hotspot where you can try something new. As Illinois' largest independent craft brewery, it has its brewing facility offsite but offers one-offs and brand new launches to patrons at its bar. Great brunch, too.

STOP 4 // Hopewell Brewing Company :  See the Bubbly & Beautiful

Pretty, sleek and bright, Hopewell Brewing has that newly minted glow — and great beers, too. It was started by three college pals, which translates to a friendly atmosphere and refreshing drinks such as the champagne-like Farm and Family Saison.

STOP 5 // Lake Effect Brewing Company :  Take a Tour

Pop by the Bottle Shop at Lake Effect Brewing Company, open daily to sell seasonally rotating beers, brewed onsite. Ticketed free tours are offered every Saturday and Sunday, and offer views not only into the brewery, but also the bottling area and urban farm.

STOP 6 // Old Irving Brewing :  Show Your Team Spirit

Play a game of corn hole in the game room or kick back in the wide-open taproom at Old Irving Brewing, which has a sporty vibe and loyal following.

STOP 7 // Aleman Brewing :  Taste a Garden of Flavor

See how hyperlocal ingredients come into play at Aleman Brewing (your first order: LadiesMan wheat ale made with lemon thyme grown onsite). Even the decor has Chi-town spirit. Local graffiti artists volunteered their time to create the colorful murals inside.

STOP 8 // Concord Music Hall :  Concert Night

Finish your day at Concord Music Hall, a live music venue known for EDM, punk, hip-hop, and just about everything else that's up-and-coming.

Transportation tip: CTA Blue Line 'L' train
