Chicago Sports Commission:
The Chicago Sports Commission (CSC), is focused on recruiting high-profile, major sporting events to Chicago, aspiring to make Chicago the premier U.S. destination for sports events. Chicago has been awarded numerous events driving significant visitation, media exposure, hotel room nights and revenue including; Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament, ITU World Triathlon Grand Final, 2015 & 2016 NFL Drafts, 2017 NHL Draft and the 2016 America’s Cup.

Client Services: 
Choose Chicago’s Client Services Department serves as the primary liaison between Chicago’s convention clients and all things Chicago. Their main objective is to provide an outstanding experience for Choose Chicago clients and support our sales team efforts in rebooking business. They provide destination marketing resources, coordinate and execute site visits, manage the city welcome initiatives such as street banners and welcome signage at the airports, and execute Choose Chicago appreciation services that are included in the Chicago “We’re Glad You’re Here!®” program. They also manage the Choose Chicago Ambassador Task Force, an industry volunteer program designed to help conference and convention attendees, exhibitors and management feel welcome during their stay in Chicago. 

Cultural Tourism and Neighborhoods:
The Cultural Tourism and Neighborhoods Department is responsible for increasing awareness and visitation to Chicago’s cultural entities, events, attractions and neighborhoods by promoting Chicago as a premier cultural destination. 

Marketing is responsible for all trade advertising as well as direct-to-consumer marketing campaigns. These campaigns include TV, digital, out-of-home, social media, e-newsletters, print publications, online video, etc. All of our campaigns direct to, managed by the marketing team as well.

Marketing is committed to ensuring that leisure travelers and B2B audiences are presented with an infectious vision of the city of Chicago. For leisure travelers, this means gathering as much leisure traveler insight across the US and our core international markets to create marketing campaigns that drive Choose Chicago to and past our goal of 55 million visitors by 2020. For the sales team, this means providing the sales team marketing strategy and assets that a) help them sell the city as the best place to do business and b) show the key decision makers that Chicago is a vanguard city that will excite their attendees, help draw record attendance and guarantee successful attendee experiences. 

Public Relations and Communications: 
The PR and Communications Department assist domestic and international media, including consumer, travel trade and meetings/convention trade journalists seeking information about Chicago as a visitor destination. The team works closely with writers, photographers, bloggers and broadcast/radio personalities who are visiting Chicago or participating in a familiarization (FAM) trip by helping to create, shape and guide their Chicago experience. Choose Chicago partners are instrumental in helping the communications team share the Chicago story and gain greater exposure and interest for the destination. 

Meeting and Convention Sales:
The Meeting and Convention Sales Department is the official sales arm for the city of Chicago and McCormick Place. The team is responsible for booking over 2.6M room nights annually into Chicagoland area hotels, McCormick Place, and Navy Pier. The Meeting and Convention Sales team is divided into the following segments: Corporate, Intermediary, Association, and Trade Shows with nationwide representation. 

Choose Chicago’s Research Department is focused on providing our partners with actionable market intelligence that will elevate Chicago’s profile and support your business growth. Your partnership with Choose Chicago provides access to proprietary research and key tourism related statistics found on our partner extranet including: 

  • High frequency tracking of hotel performance metrics 
  • Domestic and international visitation statistics 
  • Convention and event statistics
  • Economic statistics relevant to the Chicago metropolitan market 
  • Primary and secondary market research that aids in business planning and support

Global Development: 
The Global Development Team works to increase Chicago’s profile as a top leisure destination. The team is responsible for creating and overseeing the domestic and international sales and marketing efforts among the travel trade, including tour operators, receptive tour operators, travel agents, airlines, and online travel agents. These efforts are executed via promotions, campaigns, tradeshows, sales missions, and familiarization trips.
