The National Partnership for Educational Access (NPEA) connects the NPEA connects the people, practices, and innovations essential for eliminating barriers to educational access and college and career success for underserved students.
Featuring more than 30 workshops, three keynotes, two receptions, and ample time for networking, the NPEA annual conference is a valuable opportunity for those in the field of education to share best practices for supporting underserved students on the path to and through college and beyond. Conference participants represent school and non-school based direct service programs; independent, public, and charter schools; colleges and universities; education nonprofits; and others committed to educational access and success.
As our country continues to face overwhelming challenges, NPEA’s 11th annual conference invites us to collectively raise our voices to champion the power of educational access and success. We will focus on bold innovations with proven results designed to empower students on their unique educational journeys, and learn from those who are committed above all else to dismantling systems of inequity. The time is now for open and frank discussions on topics such as college affordability, student mental health and well-being, identity and character development, youth voice, college and career readiness, measuring our impact, and diversity, equity, and inclusion issues across the field. Working together, we will continue to meet last year’s call to action to unite for change as we reimagine educational access and success in partnership with students, families, colleagues, and communities.
NPEA continues to focus heavily on concrete learning and takeaways that benefit the field. For the 2019 conference, we will provide ample opportunities for active learning leading up to, throughout, and following the conference. Participants will arrive actively engaged with the content and involved in conversations that will help them maximize the conference experience. As an attendee, you should be ready to learn, willing to roll up your sleeves, prepared to network, open to self-reflection, and eager to grapple with critical topics to promote positive change. Our goal is for all participants to leave with as much actionable information as possible, and to create a culture and community of continuous learning that starts before and extends well beyond the conference.
