HISTORIC CHICAGO ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION TRANSFORMED INTO BOUTIQUE HOTEL
Commune Hotels & Resorts announced the groundbreaking restoration of the historic Chicago Athletic Association building and conversion into a 241-room luxury lifestyle hotel last month. The property will feature 17,000 square feet of event space, "elegantly appointed guest rooms and suites," interactive game room, curated retail space and a rooftop bar with views of Millennium Park. The hotel is slated to open in Spring 2015 and is now accepting reservations.
VICEROY HOTEL PLANNED FOR CHICAGO'S GOLD COAST
Trader and developer Don Wilson has teamed with Viceroy Hotel Group to open a 180-room hotel in the heart of the Gold Coast. The project in the 18-story building on the Cedar Hotel site would include a rooftop pool and terrace. The hotel is slated to open in 2017.
HILTON WORLDWIDE TO OPEN CHICAGO'S LONDONHOUSE IN 2016
Hilton Worldwide announced last month the addition of LondonHouse to Curio - A Collection by Hilton, which will be located in Chicago's historic London Guarantee Building and new 22-story Modernist glass tower. LondonHouse will include approximately 25,000 square feet of meeting and pre-function space comprised of two ballrooms and multiple meeting rooms, as well as what developer and manager Oxford Capital Group, LLC, believes to be Chicago's only tri-level hotel rooftop.
HYATT CENTRIC THE LOOP CHICAGO SET TO OPEN IN APRIL, NOW ACCEPTING RESERVATIONS
Hyatt Centric, a new, full service lifestyle brand designed for business and leisure travelers from Hyatt Hotels Corporation, announced Hyatt Centric The Loop Chicago will be one of the brand's first two hotels to open in April. Hyatt Centric The Loop Chicago will be located at the northwest corner of Monroe Street and Clark Street and will offer 257 rooms and 2,513 square feet of meeting space. Wireless Internet is complimentary throughout the property, and multiple dining options will be available to guests, including Cochon Volant, a French bistro serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.
