Automated Passport Control (APC) has been upgraded at O'Hare International Airport so that it can be used by more international travelers. The technology upgrade will streamline U.S. border clearance process for more travelers. Previously, the kiosks were only available to U.S. and Canada citizens. With this upgrade, the multi-lingual APC kiosks now accept eligible travelers from 38 countries which do not require U.S. entry visas, including Australia, Japan, Germany and the United Kingdom.
The James Beard Awards, the "Oscars of the Food Industry," will be held in Chicago in 2015, the first time the prestigious awards ceremony and gala will be take place outside of New York City. Lyric Opera of Chicago will serve as host venue for the awards.
One of only three U.S. cities to make the list, Chicago was named one of TripAdvisor's Top 25 World Destinations as part of the site's 2014 Travelers' Choice Awards.
The annual San Pelligrino World's Best Restaurants awards named Alinea, Grant Achatz's Lincoln Park restaurant, the No. 9 best dining venue in the world, its first appearance in the top 10.
