CHICAGO LANDS GEORGE LUCAS MUSEUM
Filmmaker and Star Wars creator George Lucas selected Chicago as the future home for his Lucas Museum of Narrative Art last month. The museum would be built on what are now parking lots between Soldier Field and McCormick Place, and is slated for a 2018 opening.
The Lucas Museum will not only be a home for his extensive collection of art and movie memorabilia, but will "be a gathering place to experience narrative art and the evolution of moving images - from illustration to cinema to the digital mediums of the future," according to the museum's website.
O'HARE AIRPORT TRANSIT SYSTEM CLOSURES
As of July 14, O'Hare International Airport's Airport Transit System (ATS) will experience full and partial closures until November 2014. Passengers and employees should allow extra travel time and make use of alternate methods of travel during this time. The ATS is a separate inter-airport transit system and is separate from the Chicago Transportation Authority (CTA) and the Blue Line.

LANGHAM LOOKS TO BUILD SECOND CHICAGO HOTEL
According to an interview with Langham Hospitality Group CEO Bob Warman, the Hong Kong-based parent company of the luxury Langham hotel in Chicago is looking to build a second hotel. The group lost a bid to construct one at the site of Oprah's Harpo Studios in the West Loop.
