Cvent’s fifth annual list of the year's top destinations for meeting planners named Chicago second among the Top 50. Cvent evaluated over 5,000 cities, ranking them based on meeting and event booking activity in the Cvent Supplier Network, as well as the number of meeting and event venues in the area.

The former practice facility the Chicago Bulls used while Michael Jordan was leading the team to six NBA championships is now a premier North Shore location for social events. Planners can take advantage of 85,000 square feet of event space for meetings, celebrations and private functions. Highlights include an exclusive Wine Room, a 7,400-square-foot outdoor garden and on-site culinary staff.

The arrival of three hotel development projects at O’Hare International Airport will more than double the current hotel capacity at the airport. This multi-million dollar investment will include the construction of two new hotels and the modernization of the existing O’Hare Hilton.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and American Airlines, through a joint initiative, will install new screening technology, including automated security screening lanes and computed tomography (CT) scanners, at select American Airlines hubs nationwide this fall.
Automated screening lanes will incorporate technology and screening station modifications that will decrease security times by approximately 30 percent.

The new chef-driven concept inside The Kimpton Gray Hotel includes a dining room reminiscent of old Hollywood, elegant salads and small plates. Steadfast has a private dining room that accommodates up to 20 guests, and the restaurant has the capacity for larger group reservations as well.

Chicago's West Loop neighborhood will be home to celebrity chef-inspired hotel, Nobu, owned in partnership with actor Robert DeNiro. Volaris Airlines announced new twice-weekly service between Chicago O'Hare International Airport and Monterrey International Airport. This is the Mexico-based ultra-low-cost carrier's first nonstop, transborder (U.S.-Mexico) service from Monterrey. The flight offers seating for 174 passengers and operates on Monday and Friday.
